Hi Everyone, Well, after longing for a decent garage/hobby shop, I am finally getting a new 40x60 garage into the planning and building stage. We just bought a house outside of Zelienople, (north of Pittsburgh, Pa.), and I'm gathering up information, plans, advice, and names of builders. Any and all help will be appreciated.
Very few limitations, but the garage must resemble the architecture of the house, with just a few courses of (matching) brick to grade, then (matching)vinyl siding , and a shingled roof. I'd guess that rules out a pole building, or someone needs to tell me otherwise.
40' wide by 60' deep, with one 16x10 and one 16x14 garage door on the front end. 4/12 to 6/12 roof pitch, and a gable/dormer on one 60' .side (faces the street). A man door (I already obtained a 48" (x2) double steel door set that I'd like to use on one side).
I want to have enough inside working height to work on a 36' houseboat project, as well as anything else, plus have a lift for my car or truck.
Anybody know of plans I could obtain, or suggestions of things to include, or "I wish I'd done (this) when I built mine" suggestions?
