Hello all, my name is Dan and I've been lurking around since last month. I stumbled upon this site while looking to buy a great bench vise and found the "Everything You Need to Know About Bench Vises" thread by mjozefow and have since found myself indulging in all the meticulous appreciation of the finer things our garages can offer us. Including the many top notch garage threads that have the wheels turning in my head for my future garage. (I actually ended up picking up a Wilton 1760 from a member here, hoping to receive it shortly and begin sprucing it up, painting it, etc.) I have been very impressed by the respect and appreciation for quality here.
I definitely do not have the garage I'd like to have, just a slightly narrow 2 car garage in a townhouse, but I make it work in the time being until my wife and I move in a year or so to something freestanding and with a spacious garage that I can live happily ever after in. I've added some pictures to the end of this post of my humble garage and my money pit. It's a 1995 Mustang Cobra that I've owned for over 10 years now, which seems to find ways to **** more and more money out of my bank account each winter.
Last year I was fortunate enough to land a magazine feature by 5.0 Mustang and Super Fords magazine, which may be the end goal for most car enthusiasts but it has actually inspired me to take the car much further than it was at the time of the shoot. This included a Procharger D1SC, 03 Cobra IRS rear swap, built Tremec 3550, etc. Currently I am working on hand building my own side exhaust out of oval tubing for maximum ground clearance and integrating electric cutouts that feed back into the side exhaust. I'm also in the middle of adding a full RideTech E3 air ride setup pending availability of their new front air struts, and front and rear Wilwood 6 pot/14" and 4 pot/13" brakes.
The short list of the car is as follows: 347 stroker, Procharger D1SC, Tremec 3550, built 03 Cobra IRS, 19x9.5/19x11 HRE 542R wheels, Sparco Evo2 seats, side exhaust, etc. Currently the car makes 556rwhp/618rwtq. I'm going to guess most on here tend more toward the older iron, but I hope my car can fit in too
