Thought I'd share some pics of my new garage. It is a 24x30'. 12' ceilings. 12/12 roof pitch to help create a nice size attic with good ceiling height for my bicycle workshop/office/hangout/exercise room. The house is from the mid-1920's and had a gravel driveway and a "carriage house" in the basement. I did as much as I could w/the garage, but hired out a good bit.

That's alotta steps. BTW, those are "carpet grade" pine prebuilt steps that I stained anyway. Looks great to me. AND they were cheaper than I could build them for!

I have more pics if you wanna see em!

Thats awesome!

I would love to have a stand alone shop/garage like that, with a loft in it, with all the amenities, bed, T.V. , Shower, bathroom, etc. etc.

Looks very good though

I like all bikes, but I am mostly into vintage steel racing bikes, and I like to build wheels, etc. Here is one hanging from the ceiling. I have a few. I also need to hang some more up. The 12' ceilings are not the best for hanging bikes, but I just use a 2' step ladder to reach. Here is a vintage Colnago sympathetically (not hacked) converted into a fixed gear that I ride everywhere that I ride my road bikes:

Here's one of my touring rig in front of the cubby I built under the stairs.

Thank you! I thought about making a guest house with full amenities upstairs but I already have too many rooms in my house--three floors (including the attic). I didn't need a house anywhere near that large, but I scored an amazing deal on it. I could live in it in a pinch though

I still have a to-do list: Handrail, heat system, hanging bikes, downspouts... and a wish list: Floor system, lift (high lift opener if required), more lighting, paint, etc.

Nice! Would look good next to my house as well.

Thanks! The red color is a nod to this house's history. My next door neighbor's house was converted from the barn that was on the original property. It is a little tall due to the 12' ceilings and room trusses, but it doesn't look too bad here, IMO.

You are correct! I still have Genevas in my house too (repainted white and added granite tops). I removed the ones that are now in my garage from the kitchen to make room for a dishwasher and a pot rack. Love em!
