Hello
I was sent here from a friend and though I should sign up for some help and idea's.
I live in southern ontario Canada and I purchase a 50 x 80 foot steel beam garage from a local supplier here. There are 16 foot end walls and the centre is 18 feet high. Two 34 inch man doors and two12 x 14 high garage doors.
I did the footings and the walls the last couple of day and I need to backfill. I hope to learn on the floor heating and try to price it out before I pour the slab(floor).I have two inch foam to put on the footings before the rebar/stone and concrete. I will be running electrical under the foor and I have a rebar cages made for where the hoist is going.I will also dig down a couple inches where the hoist bolts to the floor. The floor will be 7 inch thick and have fiber mixed into the concrete..

I have more pics of the walls on my camera but will have to post them later.

Any ideas on price and what the best way to heat the garage. It's mostly just for my cars and toys.

The steel went up in three days. The wrap insulation will be here monday morning.

The two garage doors 12 x14 will be here in a week. The two man doors will be installed this week . I am going to pour the floor after I see what I need for the heated floor. I think in was 260 sheets os 2 x8 styraphoam sm and the 6 mill poly. Any idea's on the name of the pipe(ipex ?) or what to use for the in floor heating.

Well all done for the winter. I have a another project on the go.
Here are some pictures from september. I put vapour barrier then 2 in sm foam. Lots of rebar and mesh and fiber in the cement.
This is what 8 trucks of cement look like on the floor @ 9 meters per truck.Floor was polished. Then the floor was cut and the cuts were filled with seam filler. Then three coats of sealer rolled on the floor. There is a drain and water in the shop. Car hoist and second floor loft(party area) are waiting to go in when I have some more time.

Well the guys that were designing my in slab heating were taking too long (over three months) so I just did the radiant pipe heaters that run in the ceiling. My garage build was quicker than the people designig the layout the for the in floor.

Mike, thats no garage..... Thats a GARAGE !!

I would love to live in a world where I could do stuff like that.

Here in the UK, even a single garage is see as a lucky strike.

I have a double size one now, down from the 7 car garage I used to have in South Africa. But your garage makes me grin madly.
