New Guy Here With Garage Question

Hi guys Ron Arnold from Port Barre Louisiana , love the site you guys have some great garages , im currently looking at a garage its a rent to own deal seems like it would fit my budget well , but im not to good on figureing out if the size will fit my needs , i havent had a chance to go see them so figured id ask here,

i currently have a 67 vw baja beetle

it is now under its 2nd resto this time from the ground up so its in 2 pieces engine and ****** also out , i have a mig welder , air compressor and a matco 3 bay tool box

if i measured the specs corrently in my house it looks like a pretty big shop for my vw i just want to make sure before i waste my time.

Cajun welcome to The garage journal . I will say that guys have worked in less space on vehicles that size BUT if you can go 20X28 it would give you room for the body and chassis to be side by side in the shop . This should give you room to work all the way around one or the other ( with one pushed to the side ) and still have plenty of room at one end for benches and cabinets and such.

Rent-to-own is almost always a bad idea, financially speaking.

$8,329.00 for a garage sounds all right -- until you consider that...

$302 a month for 60 months means you pay them a total of $18,120.00.

If I were investing that kind of money, I would want a stick built garage with a concrete floor. That framing might be stiff enough for a light vehicle, or mowers and things, but in the long run, the concrete floor will be the best of all solutions. Also, stick built on site, you can go bigger for the same money, unless you have zoning laws against that.
I would consider that building for a storage or woodworking shop, but would want concrete under a garage.
