Hey Im dave. I found this site the other week when I was looking for information on an air compressor. After looking around a bit I am finally on here. I grew up in a body shop for the most part. My old man was and still is a painter. As I grew up I started leaning towards mechanical work. Got my first job at a body shop when I was 14. By the age of 25 I was a rep for PPG. I even got to teach my old man when his shop started spraying water based paint. With a growing family I got tired of traveling. Changed jobs and when they downsized, I was the guy with less seniority. After having a small 4 bay shop of my own for a bit I got to be so busy I saw my family even less than when I was traveling. I had been looking at the National Guard since I wanted to get back in school and finish my degree and figured doing that was better than student loans, plus I had always wanted to go into the military. One day my wife came by the shop for lunch with me and asked me if I wanted to go in the military full time. That afternoon I went to the Army recruiter and started that process. Now I am a mechanic for the Army in Fort Riley. I recently sold my buisness, most of the equipment and my accounts to a friend of mine that had been running it the last couple years.
