New guy here been lurking for a while absolutely love this site.

I will make a more formal intro after a little while, after seeing this site I have gone into a full garage remodel.

So while I am in the middle of that I picked a couple extra boxes for storage and organization.....the box on the left is a no brainer 84 craftsman home edition tin foil box but good enough for orginizing the odd tools and diagnostic stuff.....the box I am curious about is the one on the right.

The hang on tray is from a Kennedy and the box has all been repainted.

The inside drawers are red....but the inside of the cabinet itself looks to be the old machine gray like the old C man boxes.

The guy I bought it off of swore it was a Snap on box....but I looked in all the places where they are supposed to be stamped and cant find a single marking or remenant of a badge anywhere.

Have gone through tons of google searches and have not seen one with the double handle single top drawer.

So, hello....and any thoughts

It looks kind of like a KR-300, different drawer layout though.

The KR-352 had a similar folding shelf.

Found here: http://www.collectingsnapon.com/index.php?page=Tool Storage/Tool Storage KR series

I'd post your question on collectingsnapon.com and see if the guys there can help.

GS: welcome to Garage Journal and glad you finally decided to join in the discussions to learn and share what you know. as far as that nice looking box you are asking about there are several makers that had that design.

even if it is a Snap On it might have been made by MBC and maybe the best way to find out is to post a few pictures of it on the vintage tool box thread. if you haven't seen it yet there are a lot of cool old tool boxes on there. also open the drawers and get a few close up pictures of the slides because a few of the experts can not only narrow down the maker, but also the year it might have been made if you can't find the date stamp where they tell you to look for it.

good luck and nice looking boxes

I'm pretty sure that it's not a Huot. Waterloo also used those drawer handles. I'd add that name to the list in addition to Mac/Matco and MBC.

The drawer slides / clips will tell a better story.

Thanks guys, yeah I have been through the vintage box thread...oh maybe 400 times..LOL.

I know I should have got better pictures honestly I wasnt going to post it usually I can find out the year and all that after just a short time brousing around....however this one has me stumped.
I have seen numerous similiar cabs in 4 drawer or 3 drawer or with double top drawers but not 5 drawers with the double pulls on the top.

I will get some better pics tonight and post them up.

It almost looked like there was something there...I very carefully wd40 with just a rag, nothing, then very gently with 00 steel wool nothing.....looked more like some remenants from a sticker or just some **** he had piled up in the drawer.

But no nothing there, the back corners, back top corners, inside bottom, any of the drawers.....not to say that he didnt sand it off when he repainted it

Look on the lower right front in the area of the wheel.....I have found date stamps there before.

Bingo...!!!!! It's a Bonney....!!!! Check out the Bonney toolbox and friend thread. Lauver just posted pics of one with a double top drawer handle.

Take a picture of the drawer slides. I'm like 99% it is not a snap on box.

Sorry for the poor quality, I need to get a better camera or phone or something.

But hopefully this helps maybe someone can identify it or point me another direction.
