Not much to tell, really...

After 35 years of working for the Air Force, and livin' all over the place, I'm now retired and living in Bulverde TX, a small town about 20 miles north of San Antonio. If I'm passionate about anything these days -- it's my old cars. I just finished (more or less) work on a `30 Ford coupe; let's say it's "traditionally influenced" but is insufficiently traditional for the die-hard crowd on a sister forum. (It has disc brakes, R&P steering, and A/C. At my age, compromises in favor of safety and comfort seem reasonable.) I also have a `28 Ford modified that I've been driving for several years, but am about ready to tear apart and rebuild as a more finished car.

For the first time in my life, I finally have a real home workshop! I now have space that's totally dedicated to my old cars. It's a pretty modest deal compared to what many of you have -- only 24` X 32`, but has a comparably-sized attic for storage, a concrete pad in front for outdoor working/parking/whatever, and a basic assortment of tools and equipment.

I'm joining this forum in hopes of getting some information (and parts!) to help me finish up my latest shop toy. I've recently acquired a 1945 (?) Blackhawk 2-ton floor jack (Model # SJ-18) and am hoping someone here can help with some badly-needed hard parts. They're simply not available thru commercial sources any longer. So if you just happen to have an SJ-18 that I could buy -- or you're willing to part it out -- then I'm the guy you've been looking for!

Thanks for listening...

I have known Garry for at least 25 years. His shop has all of the essentials; fridge, TV, recliners, and even some tools. A great place to hang out and talk hot rods (of which he has two fine, home built examples).
