New guy.. Lookin for some old tool chest knowledge

Not sure if this is the right place to post this, but I need some help. I just pulled this old toolbox from my grandpas shed, and I need some help IDing it... Dad said it is a SK. But SK never built there own boxes did they? It needs new slides. Can anyone help me out here? Thanks!

I emailed SK and they said they didn't build boxes but pointed me toward Waterloo industries. I read somewhere else that Waterloo built boxes for them. But wanted to make sure that is what it is.

I should have said, "SK sold boxes." I'm not sure they ever built them in-house. I do believe Waterloo built them at least at one time, and that box looks like it might be a Waterloo-made box.

Yes, that's a waterloo. I have something similar. Mine is dated around 1981.

Try Waterloo at 800-833-8851. You should look for a date that is stamped on the back lower left I believe.

Does look like a waterloo/proto chest. That is an old style slide. They still carry the slide retaining clips (black piece on end of slide) but I am not sure if they still carry the slides themselves. FJ above gave you the number, try calling them, waterloo has always been easy to deal with in my experience.

With some patience I bet you could straighten that slide up. Doesn't look too far gone IMHO.

When you call them, have an email ready to go with the pictures attached and any numbers that you can read. While you are talking to somebody at Waterloo, ask for an email addy and fire the email off, it'll make it easier for them to help identify the slides.

I have C-man , Matco , and Kennedy boxes , all have those style clips and slides. So you should have plenty of sources for them .

Waterloo is by far the cheapest for the parts. They were the OEM for Cman, Proto, Matco then Mac as well as a few others back in the day. The kennedy slides and clips are very difference. A much better design IMHO.

Thanks! You guys are awesome, helping a new guy on the forum out! I'll look it over when I get home this eve and see what i can find down the Line of numbers and such.. Ya that slide may be straightnable (?) but I think it's got some missing...

Duh! Had a chance this eve to unstack the drawers and sort thru the slides to see what's still good anymore and was putting drawers in and saw this;
