just one image was linked. When posting, right above the top line you are typing, there is a yellow & grey icon, with a mountain on it in grey. paste the url to your image from photobucket in it. Good luck!

I sat down with the builder and talked about what size I needed to fit the boat and truck. I gave the builder my ideas and told him that the outside needed to match the house.

Yea looks good. I also went with a hip roof to match the house. It cost a little more, but I think it was worth it.

Someone on here was talking about using can lights. Are you happy with the light output? How did that work with your insulation?

Thanks sasquach, custom1. Hip roof did cost more but woth it to match the house. You know keep the wife happy. I like the cans I have 25 of them. Light output is really good the 10ft ceilings help. With the insulation you need to use IC rated cans. They can come in contact with the insulation.

What spacing did you use for the cans? I am about to do the electrical in my 24 x 36 addition with 10' ceiling.

Blue Seducer the layout that I wanted did not work out due to all the framing for the hip roof. The spacing that I ended up with was 5ft for most of them.

Dogberry01,

*Thanks* for posting a good selection of you hip-roof garage pictures and also for including the house in the pictures (to get an idea of scale). I see renderings and sketchups of garages, but there's no substitute for seeing the real thing.

May I ask what the roof pitch was and the depth of the overhang?
