New Guy New Garage

Im planning on starting on a garage in about 13ish months and would like some input. Basically the story is Im 21, single, live at home, race offroad, into traditional choppers and hotrods (no new era junk), and have a bagged ford courier. Instead of buying a house and all that nonsense Ive planned for several years now on just building either a pole barn or steel building with a living quarter either in a upper corner given the roof height or in a ground level corner. I want somewhere that I can move all my fab equipment to, have room for my trailer, the F250 truck I pull it with, 4 or 5 vehicles, and a couple of bikes and still have room for a jig and room to work. It would be nice to have room for a lathe and a bridgeport also. Give me your experienced .02 on how big I should go with this build, steel or pole, room arrangements etc. I was thinking about a 50x75 or so would be big enough for this? Budget aside but not building it for luxury, Id have about 125k to put into this.. Ive been researching and putting thought into it for about 3 years now its time to be getting alittle more serious about my thoughts so I can start getting the ball going.

I have posted this before but maybe you will have use of some of the ideas.

Modifications off of this theme:

- Turn the lift 90° so it is accessible from the door onn the left, leaving the right half of the lower floor for work space

- The "paint room" could easier become your living space.

- The race track is built into teh ceiling for moving heavy items across teh work space.

- The half race track allows an attic storage space on the right -- or this attic space could become your living quarters

I know its a bit small but I think you can make out the major areas

That looks reasonable but the pic is too small for me to really see what all is going on. It dont get very big when you click it.

I done what was supposed to be a quick rebuild over the winter after a hard season last year and am just now getting it done again haha how things usually go

Where are you going to put this new shop? Are you purchasing the property?

I am purchasing the property yes. Just waiting for the right piece to be on the market. Ive got cash in hand, just waiting. At the moment everything out there IMO isnt work developing. Ive got a meeting with a local guy that owns about 750 acre estate community thats in development. Hes a contractor and builds the houses within the community. (only contractor permitted to build within) Anyway he has a great looking piece of property for a really good price. Im going to talk to him about it and see what we can put together. He has build restrictions but I think its something we can work around, he agreed with my statement over the phone that we could work with the restrictions so Im meeting up with him any letting him look over the floor plan I made up.
