New guy here. Thanks for letting me on.

I like most quality things made in the USA be it old Delta woodworking machines, tools, windmills, old post and beam barns, tractors, Winchesters, Smith and Wessons, etc.

I started restoration on an old Mac roll cab which is what brought me here. I am impressed with this old cabinet. I like the style and love the build quality. It sits mostly apart tonight. Drawers will go to the dip tank and chrome will be replated. A moonlighter on C list will shoot new OEM industrial paint on it. Not sure I want to put the cab box in the bath or not. One drawer needs some repair as a previous owner turned the torch loose on it. The cabinet is bolted to a plate steel base with cast iron rollers welded to it. Simple and heavy.

The only numbers I see on it are on the casters. Anybody know the model number or the approximate build year?

A search for a top box lead me to an even more cool older Mac cab with a top box. A little negotiation sewed up the deal and I will pull a 400+ mile trip tomorrow to go pick the old girl up. Will post pictures before the resto of those boxes starts. They look 40s to me. 50s at the latest. Didn't see any Mac catalogs or sites to date these boxes.

Two old Mac rolling cabs and a top box should do me fine. I can tell I am going to enjoy these restos.

Cool site.

Scott Katz:)

That box could date into the early 70's. It was the early 70's when MAC changed from the cresent handle to the square. I remember buying a set of the square handles to put on my MB500 series.
