Howdy. Finally got enough land to build a shop (3 acres), it's always been a dream. Grew up at drag strips, hot rod shows, motorcycle/dirt bike races, etc. Always wrenching on something. Spent 24 years in the Navy, retired, scored a job in San Diego, and I am not going anywhere. Time for a shop.
Only down side is that I live in an HOA, so I have to placate them. Not a big deal, just have to make sure shop looks like house (stucco, roof, etc). I can go up to 2000 sq. ft, but a shortage of $$$$ will keep that from happening. I am shooting for ~1000 sq ft. 28X36ish. 12' ceilings, no question. I want to restore an old pickup to start out. I have a K5 now, and I just love that old steel.
Right now I am just looking to get four walls and a roof, with a rough plumbed bathroom, and basic electric. I can add bathroom, sockets, 220, lift, etc later.
I already received some help from a member, and really appreciate it.
Just wanted to introduce myself, throw out some basics, and see if any words of wisdom are offered. I have already learned a great deal just by perusing the site, and I thank everyone who takes the time to share their knowledge/experience.
