Hello Everyone,
As instructed by the moderator, I'm posting a quick introduction of myself to the board.
I'm located in downtown Santa Barbara, CA, and have a very small shop (400 sq. ft) where I make stuff for myself and my family.
Sadly, as time has passed, most of the lumberyards, saw shops, tool suppliers, mom-and-pop hardware stores, and tool repair guys have left town as the price of property & rents continues to skyrocket. Hence, my interest in journals like this have become important.
One look at the Northbound Freeway during the usual (non-COVID-19) morning commute, whereby folks are coming into Santa Barbara from places with less expensive housing, shows how people have tried to adapt.
But many of the businesses I mentioned have just given-up and either left town or tossed-in-the towel, including many of my buddies.
Gosh--as I look back, this seems to be bit of a bummer of an introduction, but I hope it shows that I value the knowledge and resources of such a group.
And I can quickly see from the number of folks logged on, the group is huge in comparison to some I visit.
Enough about me; hope you are well!
