Hey guys! Just found out about this site from Chevytalk.com. Too bad I did not find it last year before I started building
After alot of months doing research and about 6 months of it being built, my new, attached garage is just about done. It is 40'x40' w/ a bathroom. 1/2 of it has a 9' ceiling and the other 1/2 has 14' ceilings for a 2 post hoist. I went 14' because I figured when it was time to sell, the bay would also fit a large size RV. I have placed outlets every 4' and 4' off the floor, I have 2- 220 oulets, 1 for a compressor and the other for a hoist along with a outlet just in case I get a welder. My lighting consists of (7) 8' HO 110watt T-12's in the 9' ceiling bay and I will have (5) 8' HO 110watt T-12's along with 2 Metal Halide 400watt light in the 14' ceiling bay. I am very happy with the lighting. I will be using at least 1 Hot Dawg propane heater, maybe even 2 if the 1 does not do the job. The compressor ( a HD 2 stage is what I am thinking) will be installed in a separate compressor room in back of the garage to keep the niose down. I have the walls and ceiling painted semi gloss white for better light reflection. Not quite sure what I am going to do with the floor yet. I would like to do either epoxy or VCT tiles, but I am also thinking instead of spending the $1000 on that, I could just leave it and have a extra $1000 to spend on tools
Right now, my only real 2 complaints are the noisy lights and the echo effect (which is making the lights buzzing even louder) the garage has
Hopefully once I get stuff moved in, that will be reduced. Anyway, here are some pics of it......More can be seen at my Picturetrail site at http://www.picturetrail.com/winmon
