I'll get a larger picture. That is tiny! It is 50 x 80. I didn't want to send the pics too big so I guess I made them too small! The next ones will be in between.

50 x 80???

Holy smokes that's big. The floor alone must have cost a $$$.

probably is...

It probably is 50 X 80 by the looks of it. A buddy of mine is building one thats 50 X 100. It's not finished yet but I've seen the plans and it reminds me of a museum.
Give us some details and pictures on that monster.

Dave

Yes its 50'x 80'x18'. The floor was big bucks. I should have done some things a little differently with the floor because of the fiberglass in the surface. Not sure how to get rid of that. Burn it off maybe? It soaks up the epoxy and makes it rough/bumpy. So I am dissapointed at how it turned out. Next project is a compressor then a lift, a/c and lights. I am wiring it myself so it takes a while!

I'll get some better pics off my home computer. The best part of the garage is the view.

MORE PICS! Welcome to the site and looks like a great space you have there. We have discussed before in some thread or another how to smooth out the fiberglass threads. I seem to rembember a floor grinder was the prefferred solution. Don't hold me to tha tthough. Do a search the answer is here somewhere.

yup, grind it, then polish it ,then seal it with clear sealer. fiberglass wont burn , thats why they made "glasspack" mufflers out of it!

The fiber in concrete is not like the fiberglass used to insulate your house. It's thicker stranded and it melts when you heat it. I ground my floor. Then I used a floor polisher with an abrasive pad... I still had fiber sticking out. I just burned off mine with my torch.

What do you mean by "It soaks up the epoxy". The floor looks pretty good. Got any better pictures?

I think he means that the epoxy wicks up the length of the fiberglass hairs, making it bumpy... At least, I'm assuming, since fiberglass isn't apt to soak up much of anything....

Yes Ranger you are right. The fibers are almost unnoticable until the paint wicks into them and makes them fat and stand up more forming irregularities in the surface. I have heard you can burn them but it is too late for me since I have already coated the surface...
