I love the forum and am glad to be able to post some pics of my new pole barn. It is 40' x 60' with an additional 8' porch running the entire 60' length. Prior to pouring the slab, we ran 11 zones of radiant heat tubing.

Future plans will be to utilize the back 12' for a man cave and loft storage. Two of the radiant zones will supply heat to this area so that the temperature can be maintained separately from the larger shop area.

The contractor that erected the building placed thin (about 2") insulation with a vapor barrier under the steel sheathing. I plan to add another 6" of insulation in the walls before finally finishing them with OSB. Do I need to use insulation without a vapor barrier to finish the walls? Also would the recommendation be to use loose blown in fill above the ceiling? I have seen issues with moisture when insulation is not done correctly.

Thanks for any input!

Welcome to the forum! Nice to see another Wyoming person on here. Look around at some of the posts on insulation and you will find a wealth of information.

BTW, I am in the planning stages of my barn. Who did you contract with?

The building is in Worland. I ended up using a local contractor who puts a lot of these up in the area. His price was nearly $10k less than a "large" competitor. Where are you located?

I actually live in Denver as well. My wife's family is from Worland and we have a lot up there we intend to build a second home on. As for the Matador, I sold it a couple of years ago. I have had about a dozen AMCs over the years, and am currently looking for a Javelin or AMX. I currently have a 1968 Riviera.

I live in Cheyenne. I am still trying to get my plans pushed through the HOA, but hope to begin building in the next couple of months. I will start getting bids in a few weeks.
