New guy with questions on a 40 x 60 barn

Hi all, new to the forum and have a few questions. I have been searching through posts but can't seem to find what I am looking for. I want to build a 40x60 with 14' walls and a truss roof, 2 - 10' doors on the short end with a regular door between them. Maybe 4 - 5 windows down 1 long side. Lumber yard, ground work and concrete guys have given me ballpark estimates but want plans to provide accurate estimate. Also need a set for the town for a permit. How much should I expect an architect to charge for a set of plans. Are there any sites that offer barn plans of this size for sale rather than pay an architect to reinvent the wheel drawing up a new set?

Welcome to the Forum, are you looking for Cheap Plans or Good Plans that fit your Wants, Needs and Budget? Cheap Plans can be found advertised in Magazines. For good plans I suggest you meet with an Architect familiar with your local area, or get a few recommendations from your local Full Service Lumber Yard.

we had our local lumberyard do the plans for our 36x60 icf garage with 12 foot walls they have their own truss company too so they handled the truss plans with the vaulted ceilling

I have been googling and I can find random layouts in the size I want but need set specific to what I want. I know I want a 12"x18" footing, 48" tall x 8" frost walls with a 6"x8" curb to keep my 2x6 wall framing off the ground. I really just need the foundation drawings as I can do the framing drawings. I guess my question was how much should I expect to pay an architect for foundation plans. Walls, windows, doors and siding I can handle and the lumber yard provides engineer stamped drawings for their trusses.

Jblount3, did the lumberyard give you a discount on plans if you purchased materials through them?
