just wanted to get an idea of the value of a Parker vise 975b. This thing is a horse,it goes about 100 lbs. I'm helping a neighbor who has lost her husband and is wanting to sell his tools. He was a self taught auto mechanic.

Rise: can you post up some pictures of the Parker? if the jaws are in great shape it has some value, and if they need replacing that is a big expense and would knock down the value a lot. you can't really put a per pound amount on an old vise, but without pictures it's hard to help you if you are really needing some for a friend.

also where are you located cause that makes a HUGE DIFFERENCE? if you are going to remain a member of the forum after you get a free appraisal on the vise you might want to go in your GJ profile and put in your area. also click on Avatar and download a picture so it will show up under your name like my Bison made of scrap steel and tools does under mine.

good luck

There are a couple of Parker 974B's on ebay right now for a little over $400 each. I don't know what the difference is, but the seller says the 974B's weigh 60 pounds and the jaws are "in decent shape". Note, these are listings and NOT sold listings.

FIO: i don't know John, but i surely like his talent so thought this Bison would be a good Avatar. hope he is ok with that cause you are certainly not the first person to ask.

here's his website for you and maybe others that want to see some of his amazing talent in bigger pictures.
