Hey Team!
My name's Vinnie, I'm from New Zealand but I now reside in Australia (much to the excitement of the aussie brethren here lol). I'm going through final touches in a floor plan for a new home (current garage is too small) and I was whoring the internet for ways to increase my ceiling height for a hoist, adding courses of bricks adds up pretty quick, and I've already stretched the square metres out to the point the missus and the builder are starting to look at me with the death stare, so I was searching truss designs to give me some more height in the middle of the garage (3 car width) so where the flush floor scissor hoist will be put into the pad will be under the highest spot in the ceiling...that search lead me here to a thread about exactly what info i was after...so having a quick nose at what this forum is about I found a bunch of lads that have alot in common with myself...my garages have always been my hang out, my comfort zone, my happy place, so before I dig up that thread and probably followed by a host of others lol I thought I better introduce myself ;)

Vinnie: one of my favorite threads is Denwood's (WOODY) thread that started with him raising the ceiling in his old garage so he could put in a MAX JAX lift. he has other amazing stuff going on in that thread, but if you might want to see a small garage transformation this one is a good choice.

here's the link: http://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=263351

also welcome to the group and the guys like 1/2 from DOWN UNDER are AWESOME so i'm sure you'll like it here.

cheers and post up some pictures of your blank canvas that might help some of us help you better.

Illusiv: no worries and hope it helped. i get around to a lot of sections of GJ and read a lot of member's posts cause i love learning about STUFF and PEOPLE so if you have anything you can't find in a search or need my suggestion is to get on threads where the topic is discussed and asked there instead of starting a new thread. of if you have a great idea for a thread and topic just start one and see how that goes.

good luck and hope you like it around here
