Already stated in my introduction thread, but I'm a 28 year old married man in Va. My wife and I purchased a house a little over a year ago and my brother and I remodeled the entire house. I enjoy wood working, metal working and love my cars. Unfortunately my 2002 Corvette had to go bye bye to pay for the remodel, but I'll have a new toy in the big empty garage space soon! Anyways, on to a few pictures of my early steps.
Haven't had much time to build up the "workshop" yet but now that the house is done I'll have more time to build it up like I want it.
It's a 2 car garage, outside shot:
My workspace so far. In a pinch I threw in one of the old kitchen cabinets as a small workstation and took one of my shelves apart to make some extra space. I'd say the drillpress and welder get the most work. Since this picture was taken I've upgraded to the 30 gallon kobalt air compressor (thanks to some info I found on this very site!)
This is the wall which will be cleared out by new years and the whole wall will be shelving except for enough space to slide the jack in. I keep one bay of the garage open because my wife parks in it and it is also used for any repair work I do on friends/families cars, etc. Also, that old Huskee mower has been replaced by a new John Deere. Love that mower.
I look forward to getting ideas from this forum on new things to do with the garage. My plan is to get rid of the cabinet and improvised workbench and build a nice 6'x6' L-shaped workbench with a shelf below it. That way I can utilize the shelving for along the walls. I would also like to get a real pad to stand on. I currently just use the old rug from upstairs that my don't ruined.
