thanks for the kind words! i whipped it up out of 2" round steel tube top & mid post, 1/8" x 2" flat bar sides & bottom, & all the webbing is 3/8" rod. at first i wanted to do it in stainless & tig the whole thing, but decided it would never get done, so i went with steel & mig welded it instead, then shot it with a rattle can.

looks great.............

i'm thinking about a handrail for my stairs, and have been considering something metal that i can take down if needed. I like your design

That's a GREAT design but it would never be allowed here because it might pose a choke hazzard!

Railns must not be able to pass a 4" ball ( the approx size of an infants head)through any part. Back that with plexi glass and you'd be "legal"

i used a set of 36" wide 22 gage pexto rolls. they have a notch on one end for rolling rod with. the rod is 3/8" solid & rolled very easy. i used bolt cutters to cut the bars to length.
