hey guys haven't been on here in a while but got caught up on the recent posts. when i first saw the box it was listed for1599.99, this was a sunday night. the next day it went up to 1999.99. i called the catalog phone number an asked about it cause i had printed the ad and they said they would honor the price cause i had proof. Yet i still waited to order and it went back on sale and i got my order in. i called in the order and did use the 20% coupon. my box came out to 1279 + 112 taxes and 104 shipping it was delivered and my cost was just under $1500. I also saw how it would disappeer and/or change price as well. So one idea i had was i ordered a calalog after or when i ordered my box,i can remeber which, an recevied one. than i got another one around late Oct. an that catalog has the box for 1599.99 and i think the prices are good till the end of the year. the catalog is at work i'll check tommorrow. considering time constrints right now(holiday season) maybe a catolog can be ordered and if it has that price they should honor it. hope this helps....

Yes carfixer427, please do so! I just tried to place a phone order and they need the catalog # showing the $1,599 price and the # on the 20% coupon in order to honor them.

Maybe someone could call the corporate office and see if they'd give a GJ deal.

I'd do it but I'm not good at that kind of stuff.

Ok guys good news, bad news. Here's the catalog and the coupons, the catalog says the offer is good through 11-1-2010. Someone mentioned that HF wanted a catalog number, so I don't know if just having the ad might work, may depend on who's taking the call, but its worth a shot.

Just called & tried to order with 20% off coupon. Customer service rep said that Harbor Freight will no longer honor coupons on any tool chests. . . bummer.

Yep I tried to use the 20% coupon as well. No dice. I guess I'll wait until this bad boy comes around again to order it. My garage is full of kitchen appliances/cabinets right now.

Went ahead & ordered it. . . had my wife call (figured she might be able to butter up the guy in New Dehli). . . she had him bought into using the coupon. He went to finish the order & put her on hold at the last minute - ended up pulling the 20% back off. . . oh well. Shipped to Indiana, grand total = $1487

Im here in east Central Illinois, I got mine for a total $1463.94 on 11/10/2010. they will ship it ConWay freight.. that place is a joke! I work in the mail trucking industry and when I say joke these people are horrid! They called me out of the blue a week after I ordered the box and said "im 10 minutes away from your house, do you have a way to unload it?" I told him that it was supposed to get lift gate service and I was supposed to pay for it. Then 10 mins later his driving supervisor calls and tells me that lift gate will be a wait of 4 more days and $118. after trying get them to deliever it to my work that has a fork lift that is only 9 miles away, I finally decided to have them deliever it to my house where it was meant to be.they set the time of 1pm plus or minus half hour. that friday comes, I get up early in the morning pull the cars and atvs out to have room to move it around and get it where I want it. 3pm rolls around not here.. I call over to the Terrehaute IN terminal which is the terminal it was at, they tell me they dont have a truck with lift gate right now and dont know when they will have one to deliver and said they will call me the following monday.I blew up on them after taking the day off work and getting everything out of the garage to get this thing in.Then they told me I could come pick it up in Terrehaute IN right down the road where the Harbor freight is(less than 2 miles)!!!! so I paid $105 shipping and had to pick it up!!!! got it home and took 5 people to unload this monster!!! VERY VERY nice box!! CONWAY FREIGHT *****!!! one thing I havent heard any one talk about on this box is the rivets that go down the middle in back. Mine is against the wall so I dont see them, this box is way more heavy duty than my classic 96 Snap-on.. this box doesnt look as nice, but not far behind! I would never of bought a Snap-on if i had known about this box! I like it way better!!!

By the time I got around to ordering the box you guys had beat me to it so I missed out. I did go into my local store (Houston) to see if they had one but no dice. I did however buy the smaller 13 drawer box on sale now for $399 and I found a little loop hole with the coupons. I was reading the November issue of Wood Magazine and in there is a 20% coupon with no fine print. The cashier said the coupon stated no tool cabinets but when I showed her the magazine with the coupon she asked the manager and he approved the discount. I just wish it had been for the bigger box. I will remember to order mine first then post! :)

Hey Duker, they also have a 56" box that is really nice that has the smooth finish on sale for $799. Ive seen these boxes personally at Terrehaute IN harbor freight and they are just as good as the 72", just the trim and grip latch is different. those 13 drawer boxes are tough, we have a kid at the shop that has one and that box has really taken a beating over the last 3 years. He cant really keep it clean so every so often he boxes up his tools and sprays it down with zep and power washes it.. If only it has a smooth finish..

You guys may want to call & check on your order - I hadn't heard anything by e-mail regarding shipping, so I called today. They informed me that the item had been discontinued & my order had been cancelled. . . ticks me off. I must have asked 3 times when I ordered if the item was in stock . . . then they don't e-mail to tell that they cancelled my order. BS

My order was canceled - oh well, it's for the better anyhow. I stumbled across a mint 56" Matco top & bottom chest locally & "Santa" picked it up for the same price as this Harbor Freight chest; smoking deal considering the Matco box was an $8000 box originally.

I saw one in person in the HF here in Connecticut. I was amazed at the quality of it compared to the past toolboxes they have had. Everything slid open and closed very smoothly and I would compare the quality to that of my Craftsman set. I will def be looking into this down the road.

Did you see it recently? Was it the 72" and not the 56"? I thought the 72" was discontinued. Maybe it is coming back?
