I stole this from the HFQPDB Facebook page. No word yet on a part number.

Yes! To the OP: thank u for posting, you just made my day! My scheme is red and white. I’ll definitely pick up that cart and can’t wait to see what else.

I’ll bet you they start showing up in medical practices all over the country. How many times have you walked into an office and saw a red craftsman or other brand of toolbox in the doctors office? Both of my GP and orthopedic surgeon have craftsman boxes loaded with tools and medical supplies.

When I worked at the hospital, they had 5 of them on the floor, they used them as crash carts....

I love the sound of a Harbor Freight bashing thread. It has a nice repetition to the chorus.

Recent stuff of theirs seems better made. With the demise of Sears, they likely have more customers than ever.

Their new wrench organizer looks interesting. Part no. 70023 but it’s not listed anywhere yet. It’s 4 pieces, holds up to 40 wrenches, and has a magnetic bottom. Should be useful for people wanting to optimize drawer space. Does anyone know of a good US made alternative?

The magnetic screw holder looks good but I’ll constantly have a bruise. 5c53e0587392ee0a68194c62f97ca5c6.jpg

Yesterday, in Harbor Freight, I saw that they have some new magnetic wrench racks, screwdriver racks, bit holders, several different variations of socket holders in all 3 drive sizes. Some were twist lock, like the Mechanics Time Savers. They had the kind of socket tray that is a plate with a handle and 4 rows of holders on it. There were also some Hanson style socket holders, with the pins that stick up through the upside down socket. There was a coated wire pliers rack also.

It was all "US General" branded and seemed a bit too expensive for what it was.

They also had the magnetic toolbox accessories, like the paper towel holder and glove dispenser, in all the toolbox colors now.

Anyone know of a part# or online description name of this pliers rack?

I can see the white tool box being popular in aircraft hangars, boat shops, wood shops, and even body shops. Maybe even in Tesla repair places and even places with massive rack computers and server farms if they have a lot of tools.

Was in hf for the first time in maybe 2 years the other day. Same one I used to go to for "I need it right now" tools when I lived near by.

I still get the fliers. With all the new stuff in them and on gj I expected change.

I noticed almost nothing different. A few Titan sets on an end cap. A couple name changes. Nothing really showcased. I was just surprised at the sameness.

I bought one of the red 30" carts a few years back about a week before the other colors came out, and I'm still salty about it. I really, really like that blue.

The cart is freakin' fantastic. But dammit, it's red, and the blue is sooooo cool... waaaaahh.

HF has a 25% off coupon good from 7-18 thru 7-21. Does anybody know if will they honor it for non-stocked items that they have to order?

In the last two years (or so )they've come out with two separate lines of higher end Electric welders.

I do agree that visually the stores look about the same as they did 25 years ago, which is fine with me.

All these new items are priced high. It's also all made in Taiwan. Everything in the pic is minus the 2 older items in the top right and the mag strips:

Those metal trays would be great if they had plastic clips rather than metal. I don’t care for the ones at Lowe’s because the handle tucks under the base, causing the tray to not sit flat.

Stopped at a new HF the other day. In addition to all the new tool organization stuff they also had several cart magnetic add-ons in different cart colors; glove box, shelf,... The ones I saw were bright green and some in yellow (I think).

Those multi rail trays are nice. Heavy metal base and made to minimize height.

We all know hf is in the business growth part of the cycle where they attempt to move from bottom level to mid level.

I'd say it's happening.

But I would expect more emphasis on branding. It's in the catalogs but not really in the stores. Leads me to believe, as others have said, that these brands are temporary and they won't stand behind them when they're replaced.

Just stopped by and get the new US General pliers rack. $8 and some change after using the 25% coupon. Made in Taiwan and appears to be of excellent quality.

Looks like their going to offer their magnetic strips in matching tool box colors. The blue being the latest color available.

Shoot, I just paid like $25 for a Craftsman version of this in black because it seemed like the only decent magnetic option on the market. Any idea on pricing on these?

LMFAO... I had to read it sideways few times to get this one....:bounce:

What I mean was that the white surface gets dirty and gets noticeable easily than other colors, if you are into colorful displays it's probably good...

If the toolbox is white, it will show you that it needs to be cleaned. Just give it a quick wipe. I like a clean, orderly garage.

Plus white is a good color to help keep it nice and bright inside a garage. A lot of garages have poor lighting.

Get a blue one. Heck at these prices (1/10th what a truck brand would cost), may as well. Then give the red one to your son or nephew. :) Unless you could use 2 carts then keep it (and if you have the room for 2 carts).

A friend of mine didn't have a toolbox. All his tools were scattered in like 10 different spots in his 2 car garage (no room for the cars, since everything was in single pile on floor). It'd triple the time it'd take us to repair stuff since we'd have to search for tools. I told his wife a 5 drawer HF cart would be a great gift for him, so she bought him one for Christmas.

Guess what color she picked out? Red. Ha. I would've gotten the blue or yellow.

Just a DIYer here...

I too liked the new selection of of magnetic trays for tools carts in multiple colors and the new socket storage options. I prefer the metal clips as I’ve had the plastic ones break. The black and red HF metal trays with handles & the three metal socket rails looked great and durable (no plastic) but I bought the black (lower profile) plastic trays printed with socket sizes for my random/spare sets so I don’t have to dig around looking for the right one.

On rails the numbers might be facing the back or sides which makes locating the right socket slow and inefficient. The new set up takes up more space (basically most of a drawer) but for now I have spare room. My main socket set is in a separate portable toolbox.

My old system for spare sockets are the rails on top of the toolbox in the the pic; I prefer the cheap metal rails on the right than rails on left with plastic attachments. The HF labeled socket trays are a huge improvement. $10 for a set of 3 (1/4”,3/8”,1/2”)

I'm a huge fan of those trays, they fit well and I like being able to see the bolt-head end of the socket (as opposed to the drive end). For the money, they're a great buy -- we bought several for a buddy's box to differentiate between 6 and 12 point, impact and chrome, and they're holding up well.
