New Hein werner

Ok so I need a little help it's seems fairly obvious to me this a hein werner jack but there are no markings and the tag appears long gone can somebody help me possibly identify so I can pick up a rebuild kit. It is full of fluid and currently won't raise more then 6 inches. Thanks Chris

That looks like an "O'Boy" model. They were rated at 1-1/4 tons. Same features as the larger "WS" model that was rated at 1-1/2 tons.

Sitting next to my other WS it is a hein werner the hydraulics all look identical other then the saddle is smooth and no tee on the handle up by the release.

And low and behold I measure the ram and indeed it seems to be WS I ordered a kit for a WS and I guess I will found out shortly. But the ram measures 1 3/8 and has a bottom plug on the pump and just like the WS and O boy.

It's a Guardian H-102 which is the same hydraulics as a Hein-Werner WS 1 1/2 ton. The Guardian line was made by Hein-Werner to have a jack at a lower price point than their WS and OS models. The Guardian equivalents are H-101 (1 1/4 ton) and H-102 (1 1/2 ton). Again, hydraulics were the same but some of the mechanical components were cheaper. The lifting saddle was a stamping rather than a casting, and the rear casters were formed by bending the side plates, rather than using castings. Finally, the TEE handle was eliminated.

Ok getting ready to rebuild it hopefully this weekend how do I get that big (snap ring) on pump cover off to pull it out and reseal it ? I assume even if I pull the bottom plug it need to remove the retaining clip. Anybody ?

No that is the issue its' not a snap ring it's just a metal ring that is squeezed together a snap ring would be to easy. Thanks man

Use some sort of tool, (valve spring compressor, C-Clamp) to compress the spring to take the load off of the clip. Then simply pry it open with a screwdriver or pick. It can be reused if not broken.
