New Here and have a Question

Hi, been lurking here for sometime now. Finally decided to register and starting getting involved in some topics. I have a quick question concerning my tool box. Since I have enjoyed the thread of you guys posting pictures of your boxes. It made me wonder how old my box is and its relative value? Maybe there is a Sears expert on here?

Interesting - I've never seen a box marked as Sears and not as Craftsman, and for that matter it doesn't look like any Craftsman box I've seen before. I wonder if someone just added the stickers at some point. It does look like a good quality toolbox.

I have the exact same box, same stickers, same dust. Picked it up from the garage sale down the street for $10 when I lived in LA. Never occurred to me to research it more - I just assumed it was a rebadged tool box for Sears. Mine doesn't have the panel on the lowest cabinet - post photos later tonight.

Where did you get yours and when?

I am sure someone on here knows more about this box.

Don't hold your breath on "value". Until someone else chimes in, it's worth $10.

Nice handles, smooth finish. I've never seen one like that. Looks old, like '50's old.

They had Sears badged Waterloo boxes as recently as the early 90's. I do believe that logo popped up in the late 60's and hung around until the early-mid 80's.

Those are from an era when Craftsman had their own designs, and Sears would stamp their name on a direct rebadge. Part of the "good, better, best" marketing strategy.

It's not as old as 50's. likely late 60's or 70's/80's
