Well here is a big update,

I have got my self a house and had to grow up a bit.

So now I have a place I thought I best keep myself busy, this got me thinking I would love a workshop! However with with a very tight budget, 90% of the stuff have been deals off eBay or gumtree and I think I will be on for keeping it on target 👍 It's 7m x 6m 42 square meters I know this is nothing to so of you lads over the water but here in the U.K. Planning and space is tight.

So anyway this happened.

Some deal making was made for how much of the back garden I could have.

Next I had to make some access to the back.

Next the digging started 😀

Some more digging

Then it was to full them back in.

The steels turned up and there was a very helpful driver that got them as close to the build as he could I had to jump up on the back to hold a rope as he swung it over my house.

As you can see I was close to having no tv lol

And it would of been rude not to get the first steel up there before the Xmas brake.

I had one or two days off it over Xmas as I will getting bored of standing out side all the time lol.

Got the steel in and ready to go up..

Then up it went

Then I started the cut roof

Well work was getting in the way last week so I got some good time on it on Friday night and all of Saturday, I had today off from it.

I have the hole thing felted and all the batons nailed down I will start tileing tomorrow.

Was the planning permission a nightmare?

No mate it was very easy TBH, I showed everyone around my house the plans before I applyed so then there was no shock. Jumping though the Building control hoops has been worse.

Well I have been a wile I have cracking on with the workshop here and there. So here is A very big update..

Like with most of this stuff I had never done tiles before so I grabbed the bull by the horns!

All the verge tiles had to be cut to fit, I was happy with the fit at the end.

Not bad full roof done in 2 days

Then I got cracking on with the inside, I have fitted 100mm insulation in the roof.

Then this was covered with 18mm OSB board

Also I got on with the mezzanine floor lots.

Got the door fitted I am super happy with it.

The painting is now done ✅ it was a right boring job, but it's done now! There is just under 60liters of paint in there LOL.

Also I fitted my £15 eBay door last week, its like a glove!

Next up make a start on the the electrics.

I will the pics do the chatting.

Why the center footing ?

Your roof tilles look good ! Roofing tiles are only common in a few areas of the US. Most places use asphalt, 3 tab shingles. Do you have a solid roof deck under your tile stripping ? I have seen some other EU builds where the is no solid roof decking.

Looks to me like your garage is almost project ready. What are you going to tackle first? A super 7 buildup would be fun. Or perhaps a Mini Cooper restoration. Even if you only do oil changes and the occasional brake job you will have the satisfaction that comes with self reliance.
