New here and looking for some advice

Hi all. Hoping some folks here can share some experience or expertise. I've just had an 1800 sq ft barndominium built and I am planning the approx 5x5 shower. I would like a no frills, basic shower where the concrete slab act as the actual shower floor. I have thought about different ways of possibly achieving this. I could grind a slope in the existing slab toward the drain. I could grind grooves into the concrete that slope toward the drain. Of course the concrete would need to be sealed. My biggest unknown is transitioning from the slab to the wall while maintaining necessary waterproofing. 2 walls will be wood stud and 2 will be glass. Any thoughts or suggestions greatly appreciated. -M

The best way would be to pour the shower as you pour your slab. When our house was built we set a drain in the floor of the ground floor laundry room . That floor is a generous inch below the adjoining rooms and Hall Way.

An inch and a half pipe runs to the outside of the house.

I would recommend mudding up a floor pan with proper slope and using Schlutter-Kerdi for waterproofing pan and walls.
