New here and needing help

Hey! I found my way here because I am a small business owner who makes pillows for a living and I know absolutely nothing about motors, pulleys etc and I have found myself knee deep in a mess and my business is at a stand still till I get it figured out. Long story short, I have a carding machine from China that has a motor from china and the pulleys and motor are metric. The china motor burned up, so I purchased a US motor and am finding it IMPOSSIBLE to get a pulley system for the US motor to continue running my carding machine. I was able to locate another motor from China that has the right shaft size so I bought a pulley puller, took off the pulley and was putting it on used china motor and I broke the pulley. I'm not sure if God is telling me to stick with the US motor and find a pulley set for it. I have spent days on the computer trying to find someone who fabricates the pulley set i need to us motor shaft size but I am getting no where. If there is anyone out there who can help me, please point me in right direction. This is not my area of expertise. I have attached pictures of the 3 step pulley. First 2 steps are 6 1/8" across and smaller one is 2 1'4" across. The new motor has a 7/8" shaft and the key is really tiny compared to the motor from China. How will I ever get my carding machine running again so I can make stuffing to fill my pillows? Would I have to find someone to fabricate the new pulleys to fit the US motor I bought? I’m not a machinist, but this seems like a bizarre way to dimension a keyway. Mixing fraction and decimal, and the location of the reference lines.

I ran into a problem like that, I wound up buying a metric drill bit from Amazon and re boring a 5/8" hole pulley to 17 mm. Because I don't have lathe or a milling machine we used a disc sander to cut away the cast iron.

The inch sized pulley was too wide for my machine, we narrowed the hub with a belt sander.

Look for a local machine shop, hopefully you can locate a shop big enough to serve you and small enough to want you. Your local mechanic or farm equipment repairman probably will know a place.

I would think you would be able to easily find a machine shop in that area. Just googling "machine shop grand island ne" shows several but likely cheaper if you could find an off the shelf one. Farm supplies might have something or point you in the right direction. Rural King or something like that. Do you need to use both the small and large grooves? Maybe replace it with two pulleys - one double groove large and a single groove small. Grainger, Surplus Center in Lincoln, Surplus Sales north of Omaha. Then there is the issue of finding belts that work with the China pulleys and the US sizes.

I wondered about using 2 seperate pulleys but can they all go on one motor shaft?

Its there, just measured up from the bottom of the shaft instead of showing a depth of the groove. Same difference.
