Name is Marc thought I would share the progress of my garage build. Quick overview 30 x 40 x 14 metal stud exterior sheated with 5/8 ply and hardy plank skin. 5 V metal roof 4 12 pitch wood trusses. 200Amp electric , 2 12 x 12 roll up doors 1 3/0 6/8 entry door. 6" 3000 psi slab 24"x 12" footer mono slab. Figured it would be a good time to introduce my self before things get to far along. So Far lot cleared fill brought in and waiting on final engineering should be done by tuesday.

Ok progress is slow but engineering done and plans have been submitted. I ordered the trusses today and met with an electrician hopefully things move along quickly from here on out.

Well its been a while and I have been trying to spend as much time as possible making progress on my shop. 1 sometimes two days a week does not get alot done. but any way thought I would finally post some pictures.

All work here was done by Me and my 78 yr old Father the only outside help was a crane to set trusses and a finnisher for concrete.

Now there's something we don't see too often here on the GJ, steel stud construction. I'm in favor of that process.

Zeke I spent a lot of years building commercial buildings with structural metal studs. The main reason I chose them is that I still have some connections and my cost is very low. Called in some long overdue favors!

OSB or plywood for the roof ?

MJ: sorry I missed your question. plywood if you have the funds is usually the best and OSB if you are trying to save a little money. also depends on the humidity in your area.

might I say that if you check in the garage gallery threads of the members building in your area asking them or seeing what they use might help the best.
