I was searching another forum and came across a link to the Garage Journal. Looks like what I have been looking for. There is a lot of good information and food for thought and I plan on sharing some information as I am close to moving into my new shop.

Here are some details and a few pictures.

It is a 42 X 60 post building by Morton. 12ft side walls with a 21inch pitched ceiling.

It will have forced air heat along with central air to make it comfortable year round.

As I get further along I will post more.

We have lights! The electricians have been hard at it and the lights and ceiling fans are in.
With New Year we are coming up on the conclusion of the contractor portion of the new building. What's left is wall coverings of the bathroom, bathroom fixtures, furnace and duct work.

Since it has been sub-zero her for the last week it will nice to get the heat going.

I'm jealous of the posts you guys get back there.

They are all the same dimension and never crooked!

It's been a busy 2 weeks prepping and laying down some epoxy. Can't wait to get the clear on and then do the other half of the shop.

Almost ready to move in!!!!!

Do you plan on putting a lift in it? Not that you need it for space!

I just can't relate to you guys that live in areas where you have the space to put up a building that size! Man, what a beautiful luxury. I'm envious. Super congratulations on having it. What do you plan for it decorations-wise?

There will be a 4 post lift for car maintenance and storage. More for the maintenance aspect since I don't enjoy rolling around on the floor like I used to.

As far as decorations it is all about muscle cars, and auto racing.

Nice building. We put up a 60 x 72 Morton beginning last September to house our collector and drag cars. We're definitely satisfied with it. It was interesting watching their trucks roll in with all the steel/insulation/pre-made roof trusses, etc. They slated 18 days for the build, but completed it in 8 (they worked 12 hour days (Mon-Fri). Very efficient.

The two-tone exterior makes it look less like a shed. We chose an Amish crew to do the concrete; they did an excellent job as well.

Got the first coat of clear on this morning. Very happy with Justins spreading of the flakes. He has it down. Just a pinch and trow it up in the air.

I finally found some time to get back to the garage floor project. The second section is just about ready for epoxy. Since the last post I overfilled all the saw cuts in the second half with self leveling urethane and sanded them flat. This is the second garage floor I have done this to and like the results.

The results from the first section.

If all goes well I'll have the floor complete by the end of next week end. Then it's time to move in....Yeah!!!!

I didn't look at finishing it with drywall. The building was bid from Morton insulated and lined. It is their Performer package.

Thanks for the positive comments.

It depends on the building style. The building is a beam construction with a floating slab. If I would have gone with a foundation then the concrete would have been done first.

Because of the size there is substantial savings by doing it this way. Concrete is just the floor and does not bear any weight of the building.

Thanks

Really nice looking building. As everyone has said so far, it's really turning out well.

That AMX, on the other hand, is probably the nicest one I have ever seen. :) Good eye on that, too.

Thanks on the positive comments on the AMX. It is a fun car to drive. I am looking forword to getting the shop done so I can put in the 401 that I built for it.

If you see watch the episode or Rides when Chris Titus was on HotRod Power Tour the front end of my AMX is in it for a couple of seconds. We got to spend the day with the film crew and had a blast. Even got to jump start Vic Edelbrock's 40' sedan delivery.
