Just want to say thanks for all the info already. I Have been nothing but reading for weeks, even way before i joined.

Starting construction in spring. Garage will be a car mechanics garage with a separate shed area under the same roof. My wood working and mt bike shop is in my basement. I like to keep everything separated. The garage will double as a entertainment party area/man cave also.

The over all size where is stands today is 38ftX18ft. Entrance at one of the 18' ends. From the garage door entrance you have a high-lift 12x8 door. The main bay is 18'X25' deep 12' high. This Area is openly followed by a 6'X18 area with 8' ceiling and then a sound proof double wall to another 6'x18 (also 8' ceiling) separate area for the lawn tools, electrical box , hot water heater, and compressor.

Reason for the size is my lot is 50x300. I fooled around with tons of combos, and this size yields me the most yard no taken sway from asphalt .

Above that 12X18 will be a loft area open to the main 12'high main bay. This area will have home theater setup in it.

It will be block foundation im figuring 3 block up then 10' studs on top to achieve my desired 12'

The main car bay is to have a slightly offset to to one side (to make lots of bypass room )atlas slp7k scissor lift recess mounted. The entire car area will also have ceramic tile. The entire garage including shed area will have radiant heat.

The entire area will be lit by florescent lights and redundant high-hats for entertaining. I engineer and program Integrated homes, so the entire place will run on Lutron lighting controls, have tons of speakers, another flat screen in the bay area in addition to the upper loft etc..just because, i need it lol

other items to have
6 or so chain pots
slop sink
Mitsubishi style AC unit
storage area above 12' main area accessible by 4x4 door accessible from the loft area.
welding/metal working station w/ vent at welder and plasma cutting table
full internet/security/cams/and tied into house lighting controls.
the whole one side will have a 6' overhang on the outside for a covered lounge area.
110 & 220 outlets thruout
air plumbed into walls

I have cad files i drew up. i have to get them

As for the toys. im down to 1. I have a 88 Notchback mustang. Full road race style suspension (TA/PH/coil overs etc..) full interior car with AC that went 11.6@117 on radials last time at track out of gear. Currently swapping the 4.10s out for 3.73s in my carport (waiting on a piece)

Built the car from scratch and as far as i know im the fastest and dual plug headed 2.3 car out there and im doing it with a T25 based turbo running on E85(pump up the street from me!)

i have had tons of mustangs and as soon as the garage is done i plan on building another YJ with unimog axles on at least a 42" tire

thanks again!
ill put the plans of the week up ASAP!
