Happened to be surfing the web looking for info on metal table type saws and came across this site/thread comparing metal chop saw and table band saw.

Wow, who knew. Built my shop in 2022 and have been working on finishing the inside since then. Got to figure out the site, what to post where and just so some general reading.

But, I built a post and beam 30 x 36 with a 12' leanto, 12' walls. Finished the inside walls with rough cut 1 x 12" x 12' pine and the ceiling with 5" x 12' pine tongue and groove, stained with Cabots Gold Mahogany. Turned out real well.

Figuring out how to configure layout for work areas and storage too has been the most difficult part, especially while trying to complete thw ceiling (lots in the way).

Will be a place to work on bikes, tractor, weld, fab, wood work, etc. Too many hobbies. LOL

Thanks.

Yeah, I don't do FB, except to buy and sell a few things thru my wife's account. HA!

I am located in foothills of NC.

One reason I am glad I stumbled across the site is my garage is for the most part right now, a blank slate. Trying to figure out layout is a task. I am organizing a little at a time and it should work itself out. Hoping to find some good ideas here too.

Also, came across a video that you guys may be familiar with that gave me a few ideas, though my shop will be much different. The vid is on Youtube, called 12 gauge garage if you care to look. Really cool shop and vid. Heck, might have found that link here. LOL

Early on inside. Ceiling was a pain. 2 coats stain, then up to measure, down to cut, up to install, down to move scaffold, up to finish length or measure again, and repeat.

Just finished the ceiling, which allowed me to finish the wall. Also, just got a Mitsi mini split installed and going around and back into the walls to stuff insulation in the wall to stop the heat/air from going up and out the soffet. Should be comfortable once done.

Have done all the interior work myself. Added additonal framing to the structure to make the walls easier to install and make everything sturdier. Can mount just about anything I want, where I want. ;)
