New here testing picture linking

Hi,

My name is Jesse James (first/middle) and no, I'm not joking. I've posted a few times over the past 6-12 months and learned a great deal. I don't see any place to test stuff out. On other forums I have had little luck inserting images from my Google Drive and we all like to SEE a picture instead of following a link, right?

I've tried setting permissions and copying the link to insert them directly into the message with little luck in the past. I hope nobody finds this terribly annoying. If there's a better place, please tell me. I'm fine with this thread being deleted after I "learn" and reply to my own post to see if I can get it working.

Hmm, the preview shows a HUGE picture that is rotated 90 degrees CCW.

Maybe I'll just stick to links! Any help is greatly appreciated.

Ok, preview showed picture as HUGE but it's resized nicely after posting.

Still, it's rotated. WTH!

All one needs to do to do for a picture test is use the preview button....

Problem with this concept is....when you preview your own post with an embedded pic, it will likely show. But when you complete the post and send it to the thread the pic will disappear and just leave the weblink. I initially tried with Imgur and got these results multiple times. I'm here researching a fix or maybe a better photo sharing site to use with the GJ forum. Imageshack maybe?
