I've used one of them and they are pretty awesome. Starts lower than all the other jacks and lifts higher. The foot pedal is nice for positioning and the t handle makes moving easy. Thinking about getting rid of my 3 ton and getting this one. Why should it be blue??

Looks like an upgraded version of my orange one that I love. It was around $80 and not advertised as low profile, but it was. Bought it cause it solid, well constructed, and worked very nicely. Also because it started very low and went very high. The release was very abrupt at first, but now that it's broken in is much easier and smoother.

Compared to the one I got this one starts a little lower than mine, has a better angle between the saddle and handle, has the rapid double pump, and a foot pedal. I'd definitely buy this one if I didn't already have my orange one. I don't think they sell mine anymore anyway.

The HF aluminum racing floor jacks are silver and blue.

Its basically the same as the old orange low profile jack, just with gray paint and new stickers. The thing that keeps me away is the fact that it's a massive jack only rated at 2 tons. Why?

My chinese Costco Arcan jack is basically the same size and shape and is rated at 3.5 tons.

I have good luck with Chinese jacks over the years and planning to get the similar model that's low profile but under 100bucks

My dad's 30 year old + USA made jack weighs well over 100 pounds and it's only rated for 1.5 tons, but I think it would lift a dump truck.

Looks like a new version of the now-discontinued orange low-profile jack. I have the orange one, and it's really nice. It fits completely under my cars, and goes up quite high.

Thanks for chiming in fellas, it reminded me of the expensive Danish one since I did not know about the previous HF orange one. I think I might save myself some $$$.

Best,
Jeremy

At least you know they aren't inflating the capacity ratings. I would be much more scared of a tiny wimpy jack with a very high rating.

For liability reasons I wouldn't expect them to overrate their jack, but I would expect them to use cheaper hydraulics in a big jack and just deal with the lower rating.

Eeh. I've had bad luck with just enough HF stuff that I'm probably not going to buy a jack from there. Call me weird, but occasionally for something quick I don't end up using jackstands (like swapping a tire) and I really don't want any problems.

What other chinese jacks do you find to be better quality? Good luck finding american ones in that don't cost at least 3x as much.

anyone recall the best price they have seen this Jack at? I would pick up the one from Costco but my local store doesn't carry it.

I know its an old thread, but the 68050 jack has a sale code valid until 11/7, brings the price down to 89.99!! Only problem is online its on backorder, and every store Ive called around here has none. If you can find one, the code is 96207762

It will let you order on the website even if its on backorder, but obviously you pay shipping. Im thinking of ordering one on backorder, and then maybe cancelling if it gets in stock to the store first.

Customer support says they are expecting more (for web inventory) on Oct 21.

No jack I trust that much, except the lift with locks engaged. I'll swap a tire with just a jack, but I'm ready to scoot every second I'm doing it. I figure its no more "real" risk than if I was putting a jack stand under and taking it back out, maybe less.

Plenty of HF is junk, but so far the jacks seem to be OK. Electrical stuff is what I avoid.

An alternate reality in a parallel universe.
I've got a 4' piece of 1/2" rod that I've bent into a hook on one end end the other is a right angle. That allows me to push a jack stand in and pull the release lever and pull them out without getting under the vehicle. No matter how fast you think you are, you are not faster than gravity when a jack fails, the typical human response time basically means you are wondering why you are smashed before you react.
