Seen this on the HF website under 'New Items'

Looks pretty good. I was going to buy another regular Braun light, but think I'll get this one instead when it gets to the HF store.

Is it a fiber optic light and a camera too? I see the USB wire. I suppose that could just be for a power source.

Here it is: https://www.harborfreight.com/merchandising-promotions/new/3-in-1-quick-connect-light-kit-56200.html

The Braun™ 3-in-1 quick connect light kit produces up to 421 lumens to light up almost any project. Designed with quick connecting collar for easily changing between all 3 light heads, rechargeable lithium-ion battery that provides power for up to 7 hours of use and micro-USB port for fast, convenient charging. Includes 320 lumen flashlight, 421 lumen slim bar folding LED and 8 lumen flex-shaft.

Super-bright LED light source
3 quick-connecting interchangeable heads for a wide variety of jobs
Micro-USB charging port (cable included)
High efficiency rechargeable lithium-ion battery

Just an FYI, most of the Harbor Freight lights can be had on Alibaba Express for less money, albeit with slower shipping. I just ordered the Quantum 488 lumen flashlight from ‘Baba and spent less than $4 a flashlight shipped.

It may take month or two for that exact light to show up, but rest assured it will show up.

I just noticed the new 3-in-1 Braun light ad is on page 39 of the November catalog. Its a small ad and I missed it when I was flipping thru it the first time.

$60 for that? That's nuts.
I'll stick with their regular folding stick light that's $20. The stick on this doesn't appear to have the single LED at the tip (a feature I regularly use), and the flashlight configuration looks to be a compromise that just doesn't make sense.

I could buy two regular folding stick lights @ $20, and a pair of regular 18650 flashlights @ $5 (online) with plenty of money left over for a fiber optic adapter, and still own FOUR LIGHTS, all of which are better than this one.

tl;dr: It's not a Swiss Army Knife.

Only way to know for sure if it has the tip light is check it out at your local HF next time you in there (or if someone on GJ confirms it here)

The $60.00 price is just the list price and any current 20%/25% off coupons will bring that down. Also HF will probably have an even lower special sales price which could lower the price even more.

The tip has a loop that appears to let you hang it from a wire hook. I don't see how a tip light could be be incorporated in that design without awful shadows. Plus it seems to me that they left it out, assuming you'd use the fiber optic instead.

Fair point about the list. The old folding light listed at $30 and sold for $20.
My guess is that this listing at $60 will sell for closer to $40. Still too rich for my blood.

New version of the existing astro clone or new model I wonder..

New version of their existing model. This factory was working on patenting the quick disconnect when we saw it. But in professional tools, a tool that tries to do it all does few things well in our experience, or at least that's the impression our customers tend to get when seeing kits made from single use items. For this reason, and becuase we would have made several changes, we passed. But they had their sights on bigger quantity retail names anyways - so it was likely mutual.

I think I saw this before their "original" came out, so must have been 2-2.5 years ago. Things must move slow in the light world when you're dealing with retail stores and board rooms making product decisions.

Could not find anything close to this on Alibaba but only went in about 25 pages.
Its got to be there, just have not had the correct search phrase.

Try ebay. I did the Alibaba thing for a light just to try the website.. i waited weeks for shipping and found the same light for $1 more on ebay which i trust much more.

For whats its worth - in my eyes I’d spend an extra few $$ and buy from HF. With some items being hit and miss as they are - just consider it insurance that gets you an actual store and customer support department. People can say what they want about HF’s products - but in my experiences their customer service dept was a pleasure to deal with.

Funny - my garage at work just got a brand new bucket truck in from Altec. Full sized cable placer. Normally trucks like these have rope lighting ran through the cabinets in the beds. I opened one of the cabinet doors the other day - and found those “free” harbor freight blue led lights stuck onto one of the metal brackets inside the fiberglass body.. Truck’s gotta cost what, $150,000 or so - and thats the cabinet lights.. lol

Yea - i think most people’s experience with anything deemed ‘universal fit’ means it fits nothing well. Like any other tool, esp with pro’s, i think they’d rather buy 2 individual products dedicated for different tasks than to have a drawer filled with attachments to swap on and off. It never seems to work out long term and its VERY annoying to even invest seconds into changing things around.. (1st world problems.. i know.. ).

Side note - even though I’m not really a customer of your’s, i love that fact that Astro has a rep that thinks its worthwhile to have a presence on this forum. I wish some other companies would take a lesson from this. On behalf of everyone, thanks for being here.

Have you got a link? All I can find are the 3 aaa battery one's. I've got three of those and there not as good or a bright as the HF light.

My issue with the Harbor Freight Braun lights is the quality seems to be getting worse, first light I bought works great but the second one acts like the battery doesn't stay connected well and randomly shuts off, the third one I bought for the house never worked.

Do those HF lights usually live up to the specs? I assume that 7hr battery life is at the lowest setting?

I found in 2018 ....the OEMTOOLS 24648 Modular Work Light(this one has UV also !) so I am guessing that since this has been on the market a while most of the issues have been sorted out

I have a few of them. I destroyed the electronics on 2 of them by sticking them near places I was air hammering. They can't take much vibration.

Harbor Freight Light Alibaba

Looks like $5.5 a piece if we buy 1500 of them.

I think this brand new light is not there yet that I can find, but I’m sure it will appear.

The fact that we can buy 1500 pieces of the slim folding led on Alibaba tells me more of the HF line will appear too.

Remember Alibaba and Ali Express aren’t the same thing. Ali Express is the retail storefront, while Alibaba is for bulk orders.

Here’s an example of the AliExpress / Harbor Freight

There are more just like this if you can figure out the search terms.
