I got same design no brand in 7" and 9" for half that price and they been doing great for last 12 months .
tips probably will not stand up as well as german made set but I surprised how good are for price.
If you can open box and look at them even if after purchase in car park as biggest issue is poor QC rather than poor in general so if unlucky you get a dud in the set .

They look just like Astro's sets. Except you can pick up both their sets for 8pcs total @ $44. Why take the HF gamble when there are other cheaper options that people already know don't ****?

I thought this was going to be able the Quinn reversible snap ring pliers. Those piqued my interest at $12.99, my buddy just bought Snap On for much, much more

That's the problem I have with many of their new offerings. The quality is unproven and the price is very close to name brand proven stuff. My first thought was their Doyle stuff looks nice but it's pretty close in price to Channellock.

Exactly. I actually am all for the recent turn towards higher quality stuff at HF even if it means less bargain bin prices. But sometimes I feel like people that are HF flag waivers have the unique ability to forget all of the **** that's burned them in the past in order to swallow these new prices point, or are experiencing some type of gambling high from buying a tool and rolling the dice.

Correct. It's about how painful it feels in your wallet versus the satisfaction of owning the product. I'd rather get this set of Austrian Made Gedore from amazon.de for $91 shipped.

I know, it's almost twice the price, but - for me - triple the satisfaction.

Twice the price for me, means half the tools.

As long as the tools are adequate for the task, that's my goal.

If I had the money, it would be the best I could get.
