New home, garage extension?

Just like it says, we got a new home. I didn't realize how small the garage was when we toured it bc it was full of the owner's ****. There are maybe 6" of space from car space to studs on both sides. I can't fathom all my shop and brewing equipment fitting in there like that. On the side of the house is a gravel spot (like RV parking). I've been briefly thinking that essentially adding a lean-to shed to this side, then knocking out the garage wall to merge spaces will give me some extra space, maybe 150 sf. This way I don't have to touch the roof or framing of the garage as it is, except for making that big hole :).

Or the other thought was extending it out towards the street since it's a decently long driveway. But that requires more roofing, framing, etc than a basic shed I imagine.

thoughts?
