Over the past few days I've been able to move my jointer and planer from the garage to the shop (the engine hoist comes in handy). And moved two of my toolboxes from the shed to the shop. One more major toolbox to move, but it's pretty well buried in the shed. It will have to wait until I can figure out how to make room to get to it without pulling too much stuff out and having to put it all back.

The DC has been hooked up to the table saw and in use for a couple of weeks already. It works ! (and quiet). Still figuring out how I want to hook up all the other machines. All this 6" PVC stuff is REALLY expensive right now.

Crazy the price difference if you call them pipe fittings VS calling the dust collection fittings.

Might as well be calling them marine fittings 😜

Decided on a place for my 12" disc sander. The base was bent, making the machine wobble. Ordered some adjustable swivel feet on Amazon. Found a 3" to 4" coupling that fit both perfectly. All ready for connecting to DC.

Also, a couple of pics of table saw connection. Other branch will be for downdraft table.

Looking good. I hope you’re just dry fitting everything because I want all my DC piping to be the same color in my shop. 😜
Making great progress 👍

Finally got all my toolboxes moved from the shed to the new shop and put in place. Now the hard part : organizing everything. I worked out of a Chevy cube van for 22 years. Had almost everything I would need to do my thing on a jobsite in that truck. Also had almost everything in my shop. Now I have to consolidate in one place. Finding things I forgot I had. Always forgetting where I put my tape measure. Now finding ALL of them.

Unpacking more boxes and filling up drawers. Routers, lots of router bits (some from shop, some were in the truck), laminate trimmers, and my trusty old 1/2 sheet sander. Hoping to start painting the walls in the garage soon.
Was planning to meet Shorty at a car show today, but lost track of time, again.

Finished building a DC hood for my miter station, then got the ducting for it hooked up.
(Banged my head enough times under there.)
I'm limited to the depth I could make this hood, so I'll see how effective it is. I hung my air scrubber right above the miter saw, added coverage.

I was struggling with the idea of giving up 4'x8' of floor space for a lumber and plywood rack like I've had before, and the 8' of space to pull sheet goods out. So I went vertical. I have some wall-mounted lumber racking and now that I'm not in the business anymore I probably won't be accumulating as much stuff.
In the process of cleaning, repainting and assembling some of the steel shelving units that have been stored in the shed for over 3 years.

John, make sure you take detailed photos of all that plywood for your insurance company. At current prices, that's a valuable stash and I've heard you have a lot of unexpected visitors!
Thanks for the heads-up Bob. I'll be frisking everyone as they leave from now on, especially really tall guys.

And Short ones?

We just did a revamp of the shop space at work.

Very similar arrangement. So much easier to see, and pull sheets out.

Vertical requires a smaller footprint, but my rack in WA handled a LOT of inventory.

Spent the day cleaning gutters on the shop and house. I hate pine straw.
