Hey guys, I recently stopped my day job as a diesel mechanic. I don’t have room for my work tool box at home, so I’m selling it back to the snap-on guy. I am in need of a new toolbox for at home. What are good at home brands?

I found this stainless steel toolbox on Craigslist. I got it for a couple hundred dollars. I use it a a file cabinet in my office space, at home.
That green contraption on the toolbox is a Bonanza apple peeler, also from CL
.

Depending on your budget I bet you’ll get lots of people saying US General from HF.

Masterforce from Menards gets lots of love on here as well.

Extreme Tooleboxes..

I have the HF 5 drawer cart, snap on box and I bought some New Age cabinets that have a drawer set.

How much space do you have? How many tools do you have? Basically what size snap on box are you trading in?

I traded in a triple bank. I forget what the number was, but I think it was about 24-28” deep. Probably 6-7’ long.
I’m probably looking for a stacked single or double bank.

Obviously having had a snap on anything you get will feel a little less quality, and you obviously aren’t afraid to spend money. I think a solid choice is the 44 inch with top from Harbor freight. The series twos are a little nicer but they are 22 inches deep I’m not sure how much space you have at your home garage. Also the one large drawer is not that large it’s going to feel cramped for you. There are a lot of drawers on that box but a lot of them are very very shallow

First thing is getting proper money for your current 3 bank,
3 banks are popular as what most are upgrading to and proper clean snappy 3 bank fetches good money so if selling back to your truck guy be sure you getting decent price .
I would be looking for a 2 bank used either krl or something from MAC Matco .
If going minimal money route then HF US Gen on best coupon deal can be easy low cost option .
