I am buying a new house with a attached 2 car garage. I have a 220 compressor, several toolboxes, some workbenches, and a mid rise scissor lift. I will stuff 4 or 5 motorcycles inside, so a MC lift or a drive up bench will be on the list. It will never be empty again, so what is your suggestion? I will refinish the floor (it is not bad, but I love the look of a shiny new epoxy floor, and likely do some lighting and heat. What are your suggestions?

I used to live in the Valley, Broadway! Beautiful area. I’d Do the floor now. It will be a pain the **** to empty it later. Also, what’s your insulation plan? Heating it for the winter use? Is the door insulated? Lighting adequate? Built in workbenches sufficient? Using only mobile benches? Cabinet space already? If not plans? Are you only using this for storage or are you parking in half of it too?

Do everything NOW Once you are in it becomes virtually impossible to release that space while you do the Floor, Insulate, Light and paint the garage.
You will NEVER do it once you are in....trust me.

Come back to the Valley! It is already built, so I will probably do some type of "filler" insulation on the garage doors, but I had not really considered this... I will probably hang a gas heater on the ceiling? Gotta do a lot more light, my eyes are old...

Spray foam walls is the absolute cats meow. And then blow in pink Insullation is way better than cellulose. Doesn’t absorb any moisture. Go as thick as you can. As for lights, LED are SO cheap now, you can pretty much light it up like a paint shop. Make sure you seal that floor too!

As for the valley, I miss the simplicity. I moved back to Michigan to be closer to family. It’s been great. I wouldn’t trade it for anything. But living in rural VA was amazing and we loved every minute our our little house in the hills and the big barn I had. Truly miss the area.
