After getting most of the way through trying to sort my garage out in the "Shame of it" thread -http://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=46879 my good lady and I are downsizing and buying a small bungalow but with big plans.

As you can see there is a garage in the background which can squeeze 2 small cars in. There are plans afoot to extend the house and the garage to make life a bit easier.

There will be a short extension at the back of the garage to make a storage/workshop area and with the inspiration of this forum I will make it my new man cave.

My `39 Chevy coupe is already in there and has been blocked in by the building team so it shouldn`t get harmed -

I already have other items and shelving in there

Hopefully I should be able to make good home for the Chevy and my bikes in the space available. There will also be space in the rafters to store quite a lot of gear -

Foundations already done at the rear of the garage and gives you an idea of how much it will be extended -

Down the side of the garage will be a new door fitted and toward the rear the double glazed double door unit from the house will be re-used to giveplenty of natural light -

It will be a slow job as the house will not be finished until June and then the fun will begin but I will post some pics of the extension as it goes up.

Due to problems with matching the bricks not much work has been done and we are getting frustrated with the builders but at least some progress has been made -

foundations in -

rear wall removed-

founds filled in -

Hopefully the brickies will be here on Monday. The `39 Chevy has been moved to a new location after I have been turned to the dark side !

Nice garage to start off with. Is it 20 x 20 or one of the modern shrunken doubles of 17 x 17?
How are you redoing the roof for the extension?
Its not easy downsizing ive been sorting through my stuff for nearly 2 years of weekends to allow me to eventually downsize.
