New house/ RV garage

So we did it. Finally sold our homes and decided to put all in on this 4700 SF under roof Fulton home in Queen Creek AZ. It has a 52'x22'16' high RV garage with another regular 2 car 500 SF space. I had a door added in the back to have through space and I plan on building a upper deck to accommodate my future assignments. Enjoy our build as we will!

I had to move 30 miles from downtown Minneapolis to find a city that would allow a garage large for my RV. Typical garage restrictions in most cities here are no more than maybe 750 square feet and sidewalls no taller than 10 or 12 feet. The city I am in now has no height restrictions and allows 3000 square feet.

Thanks. Originally these were custom lots that failed during the 07-08 economy bust. The builder came in and bought all but 6 lots and built these larger sized homes with the RV garages on them. They range from 1/2 acre up to just at 3/4 acre. I currently don't have a RV but have some hot rod trucks and enjoy various projects.

We are using a phantom 3 advanced. It works well for aerial photo and video. Very impressed with its performance. Under $850.

Week 6 and the house if all framed. The work was done exceptionally well considering it was 115+ degrees out. All in all it will work for what we are going to do. Nothing crazy but larger than the average two car garage. More to come.

Start of the shop roof and then hoist it to place as it is so tall to work on.

Many people ,like myself, really want one and will go to the location where they can have one. I am thinking of adding a RV garage to my property partly for my use now, but mostly just to make it sell-able in the future. (You can't hardly give houses away in our county.)

I agree with you Bob. It's unfortunate that more places do not allow this. We are lucky enough to have this old custom neighborhood that never developed. The new builder came in and bought each lot and offers this larger product now. We are extremely excited and anticipate completion in January. Thanks for following along!

Ha thanks Bib. I have been following along and growing up on here for 8 years and always loved it. My wife is a photographer and graphic designer so she said we need a drone to document this place. I of course did not disagree and here we are.

I currently have a '64 Chevy c10 lowered with transport 22" wheels finished in a patina natural finish. It's home to a Buick 425 nailhead with a turbo 400 and a posi rear end. Pretty much a all around truck to cruise and have fun in or take for a nice road trip. New suspension all around and bushings, power steering, brakes and all that. Currently in the paint shop.



The other longstanding project is a '34 ford pick up chopped and channeled. Has a hopped up Chevy straight six and a 5spd trans with a 9". This has been a long project and I have been waiting for the right space to build it In.

HVAC


Most of the HVAC went in this week. Two units with 3 ton compressors. 18 SEER models. All insulation was upgrade to R38 for extreme heat and insulation alto assist with cooling in the summer. We have made every effort to curve the amount of waste on energy in this house compared to our last home that we built.

Yeah I have seen a few. I didn't want to mess with all the linkage. I was gonna run one 4 barrel. The motor is hopped up and needs more fuel and I hate tuning 1 carb so two would be worse in my opinion.

Plan is to run the 364 in my next project and then build the 401 at my leisure. Lots of pictures at the link in my signature block below.

Good morning,

Any truss guys on here that could give me a general idea of what those truss' could hold for a load? I'm thinking an I beam in the back section and a trolley with a chain fall. It seems like a long shot and want to ask a professional. The builder is clueless. I can probably get info on the truss when I get back to town. What do I look for?

Nice build. RV shops give you lots of head room, could double stack the rods.
Those bent boards on the floor could make a giant rocking horse. So how big of town is that where you live? Too damn hot for me, bet the ac stays busy?

Ask the builder who he ordered the trusses from, they might have your answer. My son bought a house with some questionable homeowner engineering, he hired an Engineer with a PE license to take a look and recommend a few safety fixes.
