new house with a new shed

Hello all, after months of looking were moving into our first home! Got a nice one car attached garage as well as a very well built 12X20 shop. It has 7 foot front wall and a 10 foot back wall! Lots of potential for my VW hobby shop. Well the previous owner never has finished the inside! Good for me! Im looking at insulating the shop myself to save some money and well I just like doing thing myself. It has 2X6 rafters and 2x4 walls. Im looking at R19 for roof and R13 for walls. Correct?

My ?????????????????? is what type of insulation to buy for a do it yourselfer. Rolls or batts to staple into place. Rolls are cheaper but how to attach to the roof area? Maybe fishing line to hold into place, then roll poly before sheetrock? Same question about walls. Shed is vinyl over plywood with a plywood floor. Thanks for letting me ask.

Spray foam insulation if you can afford , All I hear is great things about it!
If you can't swing it you could go with rolls thats what I installed in my home that I built 10 years ago, just cut to length and stapled to 2 X 4 walls and ceilings. I'm sure more answers will follow from others about the vapor barrier questions.

You might be surprised if you call a insulation contractor. I just insulated my basement walls and half of my pole barn for HALF of what it would have cost to buy it from the box stores. I was shocked myself.

Spray foam would be a good option. Seems like its not a large enough job for insulation contractors to want to do. Shop is 12x20.

Checked this too. Its not large enough job for a contractor to want to do.

Find another insulation guy then. I had my ceiling/attic area blown in for cheaper then the cost of batts.
On the flip side, if there is room, finish the ceiling first and then go up and put in the insulation.
Finally, if there is not room, put up part of the vapour barrier, insulate that area, more vapour barrier and more insulation.
