New Icon EXT kits bad chrome normal?

Hello everyone. I searched google and this forum for this answer couldn't find anything about this so either I'm crazy or this is not a common issue. I bought Icon ratchet extension kits this weekend, 1/4 3/8 and 1/2. When I opened them up I noticed instantly the awful chrome job. The 1/2 inch literally looks like its already rusting the other 2 are heavily scratched up. My first thought was well I'm opening this under a direct led light so that's got to be the issue so I went outside and grabbed some tools ranging from New to 5 years old and nothing looked this marked up. I have never really paid attention to the chrome on a new tool I never opened a tool and noticed this before so my question is this normal for all tools all brands with chrome? I know its eventually inevitable but out of the box is it normal? Or if its as bad as I think it is did I get unlucky and should I go exchange them. All of these were factory sealed btw all circle taps sealed and boxes had no signs of being opened. Would love anyone's input on this

It's odd that you would get bad chrome on all 3 sets. I also have all 3 sets from Icon, plus the wobble extension set. The chrome looks just as good as any other brands that I've seen.

If it bothers you, I'd suggest either exchanging them or returning them for a refund.
