I saw a few video's yesterday evening about this new Icon light bar, #70198:

CP Review

Brady Review

But as of this morning, it's removed from the website: https://www.harborfreight.com/1000-...-slim-bar-light-with-uv-inspection-70198.html

It's in my browsing history: 1729692827774.png

But the website shows the link as down:

Weird. My local store showed them in stock yesterday so I'm going to run over there later today to see if they will sell it to me.

I wonder if they pulled this because they are saving it for a SEMA release?

It's live on the website. Not showing under "new tools" or under any of the product categories though.
You have the use that direct link you posted.

I've been seeing these posted elsewhere online over the last several days.
They have my interest, and you can never have too many lights, but at $60 I think it's a bit much. I'll wait for a coupon, sale or price drop before I pick one up.

Seems a little pricey. I have $25 worth of HFT cash so I was going to use that.

I can't find it on the website anywhere.

The plot thickens.

My local store Manager said they aren't allowed to sell them until November. I'm guessing it's a SEMA thing.

That's stupid. I've seen 2 dozen or more posts on a Facebook group from people who bought them in the past week.
Sometimes it's all about who you talk to and who actually cares.

I just purchased one on Monday as well. I asked, and the manager stated there was a box in the back labeled "new icon." She brought it, and it was filled with them. The thing is awesome so far.

The Manger I spoke to today said they told him this morning not to sell them until “sometime in November”. He claimed he couldn’t sell it if he wanted because the number wouldn’t work in the checkout computer. No idea if that’s legit, but he seemed educated enough and I can wait.

With 1500+ stores, I’m sure some slipped through the cracks and you others got lucky.

How is the UV light?

I would ask a non-manager to grab one for you, haha. It rings up fine. UV light is cool. I used it on a Schrader valve test, and it did its job.

Does this light have a lifetime warranty?

Doubt it. Package doesn't have any warranty information on it from what I've seen.

Not chemical resistant, 90 day warranty, they should stick to making $30 lights

All good points here.

Come to think of it…does anyone offer more than 90 days on shop lights? I have one SO shop light that has so much lens melt from brake clean that it might as well be a zippo, but I never thought of trying to warranty it.

Every other light I bought I just assumed there was no warranty in a shop setting.

Maybe I’m way off base here.

Why would it? It’s not technically a hand tool.
HF says to "compare" their other Icon light to a Streamlight folding light with a lifetime warranty. I'm not surprised this $60 one doesn't have a warranty, but I'm not privy to the entire catalog of HF items and the length of warranty on each item, so this is why I asked.

I doubt that it will, but that’s a fair point

I take most of their products. They just compare a different product with similar features but is at a higher price.

I went to another HF tonight since we were out and local. They had 8 of them and sold me one without question:

It’s decent. I won’t trust it around brake clean or any other heavy solvent, but I like the build quality and it’s got some serious weight.

I think this is a $50 dollar light, but it’s new so, yea.

I purchased one yesterday, not even on sale, just because I wanted one.

Pretty beefy and puts out good light. Strong magnets (2) to stick nearby. The Snap On model it "beats" is the exact same thing for $186.00! :wtf:

I'll be using it a lot. In the folded mode it has a separate switch to use it like a regular flashlight.

Toughest part, was getting it out of the packaging. Fort Knox is probably easier to get into.

Still think the Braun are the best.

You can pop out the 18650 lithium-ion cell and replace when it inevitably dies.

“Braun beats Icon!” Not sure if that’s the directions HF wants to go lol

I think Braun stuff is great just upgraded

But regarding these particular folding lights, IMO you are presenting a“golden delicious to Granny Smith apple” comparison.

They don’t even have the same lumens or features.

PSA all Braun lights 40% off through Monday

I’ve used mine daily for a month in a shop setting.

So far so good.

I like it for the price. I’d definitely pick up another one, especially if they go on sale for $50 or less.

I'm not a fan of stick lights in general but I hear this one doesn't have memory? As in you have to cycle through the modes to turn it off & it doesn't remember that last mode that was used? Saw it in store, wow much larger than I expected.

The Icon puck light & smaller Icon stick light do have memory. I like using the puck light at work. The stick light just sits in my room, only got it cause it was $20 & too see if I could flip the LED orientation (which was easy).

I agree price is too high for me. I bought a Neiko last year for $25 and it's a great work light. I don't really like the idea of one folding, just adds other failure points.
