New to the forum!
Retrofitting an old structure. Two big topics are floor and door. Concrete is still curing, so I have time there, but I'm looking for a good thread on steel roll-up door options. It's a 9ft wide door, and usage won't be daily so manual operation is fine. Is there a good thread for roll-up (not sectional) doors so I can self-study before asking questions that've been asked many times before?

I bought mine from - roll up doors direct. Easy process to order and receive the shipment. I tried to buy local and everyone was quoting 3X the price and 3X the length of time to deliver. Some also would not sell without an expensive install fee. My neighbor helped me and it took an hour but he did use his tractor with forks. It’s quite heavy to try to lift on your own (mine was 9’ wide, 7’ high. I got a manual unit and it’s easy to lift and lower with one hand.
I got the door with insulation and a seal kit. Door was around $750, shipping was about $400. It’s heavy so be prepared.
Contact me if there’s anything I can help you with.

Okay....it looks like the right door is the Janus 1950 AKA Amarr 5501. Watching videos, these look at lot easier to install than I feared and doable with patience and rope to lift into place. Door is 9ft W x 7ft9in H. The 9-1/2 barrel lets me tuck it close to my 6/12 pitch roof and get maximum door height.

www.steeldoordepot.com seems to be the direct shipping arm of Janus with a shipping cost of $575. Trouble is, the few on-line reviews out there are pretty brutal, so it feels like there is risk.

Anyone ordered from them and care to share their experience?

I'm researching roll up doors. I don't want or need a 8-9 ft wide door on an 18ft wide work room. Anyone else?

I went with rollupdoorsdirect, and they ordered the 1950 from Janus for me. It's not documented on their (RUDD) web site. So far it's been six weeks but no shipment info yet....

I decided I'd add insulation myself later.
