Greetings all!

Been lurking as a guest for a while now, drooling over all the great garages/workshops. For the last two years I've only had a small one car garage at the townhouse that my wife and I rent. It's small, but a small garage is better than no garage and I've managed to do a ton of projects in it.

We're under contract now on our first home with the inspection this weekend. As long as nothing major is found, we should be moving in February. We love the home and I really love the 3 car garage. I'll post up some pics after I have a chance to get some good ones over the weekend. I'm also looking forward to getting some measurements to start more planning. I'll start small with paint work and possibly flooring.

Finally a proper place to work on the toy...

Welcome to GJ, XLT, You will love your 3-car. But be careful with the extra space... Space Creates Vacuum!. It will fill up before you realize, Then you will wonder how you got by with a 1-car.

Congrats on the new house!

Welcome XLT, fellow Marylander here down in Rockville. I've been in a one-car shop for the last 16 years; can't get a car in there anymore but it is equipped with everything I need to work. My advice is paint it and do the floor coating ASAP. I'm kicking myself in the *** for not doing it while the garage was empty! Short of renting a shipping container, there is no way in hell I'll be able to do it now! :lol_hitti

Thanks for the welcome all!

The inspection went fairly well yesterday, although we did find a few issues that will need addressed. Not too surprising for a 40 year old house. In any case, here is a bit more about the garage and some pictures.

The main 2-car is 22.5x24 and the 1-car is 21x11. Currently, the 1-car section is being used as a workshop/storage area. It has a vaulted ceiling, two skylights as well as some workbenches already in place.

Here are the pics...obviously the current owners still have their things here (and a lot of empty boxes, probably being saved for the move).

Quick good new update: It looks so far like the sellers are going to repair all the issues we outlined after the inspection.

Hey, welcome aboard track guy. I recognize your pics from Virginia International Raceway. My son races the SCCA Nationals there each April with our Nissan 350Z and then runs a Cadillac in the 13 hour in November for the last 3 years. They put it on the pole last year but the brakes gremlins put them back to 10th place at the end.

We ran a BMW in World Challenge for Alfred DuPonts team back in 2001. We are located in Arlington and building a new house with two garages. After we move in you should come down and visit some weekend.

Awesome! No racing for me (yet), I'm just a HPDE guy. I run most of my events with TrackDaze (trackdaze.com) and occasionally make it out with NASA mid-atlantic. Not sure what my schedule will look like this year. My guess is that some of the track budget will become house budget.
