New in metro Detroit

Hi there. I'm Ryan. I live just outside Detroit and love garages and tools of all kinds. I go out of my way to buy American especially SK!
I work in a 3D printing / fabrication shop.

At home I renovate, work on my truck, bike, jetski and old outboards.

This form looks like my kind of place! Thanks for haveing me.

RF: for all the negative things the press writes about Detroit i have to say i've yet to hear a member say anything negative about it and we have more than a few.

you are in good company here and if you can't find what you are looking for just find threads talking about the subject or the specific machine or tool and ask. we are happy to help and it sounds like you might be willing to do the same.

BTW if you want to learn how to post pictures you might post a few of your cool stuff if you have any to post or just a few of the areas you like to visit in your area cause we do like our pictures here.

RF: sweet looking box that is for certain. not sure why pictures sometimes show up sideways, so you'll have to figure that out. in any case you figured out how to post them so you should be set.

seems like you are good to go so hope to see you around the forum. i generally hang in old tools, but i'm really liking the Woodworking 101 thread and wish i would have had the internet and a forum like this 50 years ago.

There is Detroit proper (south of 8 Mile like in the song) and then there is the Metro Detroit area which stretches to Pontiac on the north and Ann Arbor on the west.

I drive through parts of the city but most of it, I stay far away. Some day, the Detroit City Council will realize that no one is going to move back to the city except in small pockets. Either the will have to give a lot of the empty land back to the county or sell/lease it for farm land.
