I have a 3/8" version and it saved my **** for one pesky water pump bolt on my daughter's Saturn that I just couldn't seem to get to otherwise-it was worth it for that alone.

think he meant Blue Hawk. lowes lower tier brand. they clearanced them out a bit ago. actually not bad sockets but the ratchets are a bit sloppy. they look almost identical to current Husky (I have a hard time telling them apart in my junkyard box)...

Yea they are Blue Hawk. Didn't catch the Swipe typo.

As for locking positions, mine lock about 12 positions per 90 degrees, so a round 48 total give or take.

I don't think those are new. :headscrat Is the new part that they are Pittsburgh "Pro"? I know HF has sold an indexing ratchet like that for a while at least around these parts.

On the durability front I've done some stupid things with my 1/2" Pittsburgh Pro flex head and it took it just fine. The spring washer did flatten out and the joint went floppy but I've got a paper shim in there that tightened it up and that's holding up just fantastically.

I have the older style that KCTyphoon has. I have not used them yet, but I keep them by my obstruction wrenches.

I bought and used the 3/8 to get at rusted control arm bolts on my wife's Grand Am. The bolts are up inside the frame. Because I had the car on jack stands, I did not have enough altitude for a breaker bar. I was able to index this HF wrench head onto the bolt heads, keeping the bar horizontal. With a pipe extension, I broke the bolts free. The ratchet pretty much save the day and for 20 bucks or whatever, the ratchet more than paid for itself. This was the summer of 2015 so I don't consider the ratchets "new".

Picked up 3 or 4 of the Blue Hawk ¼" drives when Lowes was clearancing them out. IIRC I got them for $1.64 ea. Threw one in the tool bag and one in each car kit and gave another away. Can't say I've used them much except as regular ratchets.

Also got a bunch of ¼" extensions in various lengths for less than $1 ea. There were some good deals to be had on the last of the Taiwanese made tools when Lowes was switching over to the chinese made Stanley ****...
